John Monday Wakighoma, the Kitswamba Town Council Chairperson who recently participated in the NRM primary elections seeking the party flag for the position of Member of Parliament representing Busongora County North has confirmed that he would not as an independent candidate in the 2026 General Elections.
Mr. Wakighoma who said he would not participate in the 2026 General Elections, however, noted that he personally witnessed some irregularities in the recently concluded NRM primary elections.
He made the revelation today afternoon while addressing the press at Legacy Chillout in Kasese town.
Wakighoma expressed a deep regret over his participation in the recently concluded NRM party primary elections which according to him were marred massive irregularities including widespread vote rigging, money centred manipulation of results and forgery hence undermining the credibility of the elections.
