Kasese Deputy RDC calls for peace and hard work among the residents

Parents in Kasese district have called upon to prioritize peace and hard work for the wellbeing of their families and the entire district.

The call was sounded afternoon by the Kasese Deputy RDC in-charge of Busongora County, Mr. Zepher Mubingwa while presiding over a Gender Based Violence Commemoration Day at Kitswamba Playground in Kitswamba Town Council.

The Day which is annually celebrated for 16 days normally between November 25 to December 10 to advocate and raise awareness towards the elimination of gender based violence from the communities.

Mr. Mubingwa explained that after failing provide for their families, husbands tend to become violent as a way of commanding respect in their homes.

He reiterated the need for men to work hard, respect their families and to also become sympathetic before executing their roles.

The President’s Representative, however, challenged the women especially the bread winners not to become violent in their families.

The event which was organized by Reach a Hand Uganda was also attended by the Kasese District Chairman, Chief Administrative Officer, and Civil Society Organizations including Save the Children, International Justice Mission and Justice Centres Uganda among others.
