Kasese Deputy RDC Calls for Demotion of Health Centre In-Charge Over Alleged Absenteeism

BY EDITOR

The Kasese Deputy RDC in-charge of Busongora County has demanded for the demotion of the in-charge at Ibuga Health Centre II in Kitswamba Sub-county over allegations of regular absenteeism from duty.

Mr. Zepher Mubingwa wants Ms. Caroline Centenary demoted and disciplined because during his monitoring and inspection exercise that he carried out today, he found the health facility closed and without any one attending to the patients.

Mr. Mubingwa, who is also a Health Professional, notes that after close to 30 minutes at the facility alone, he started receiving patients who complained to him that they usually fail to access health services due to the alleged absenteeism of the in-charge.

Following the allegations, the Deputy RDC resorted to opening up an inquiry file against the in-charge at Rugendabara Police Post.

Speaking to our reporter in a disappointed mood, the Deputy RDC cautioned the civil servants against taking government jobs for granted, advising them to resign if they cannot fulfill their roles.

However, when contacted on phone, Ms Caroline Centenary told our reporter that she did not report on duty because she had taken her sick child to a health facility in Kasese town.
