Couples wherever they are, have been challenged to embrace the idea of planning and budgeting for their families together as one of the means of fighting against domestic violence.
The challenge was sounded yesterday by Hon. Suzan Talyamutho, the Kasese District Woman Councilor representing Kyarumba and Mahango Sub-counties while addressing mourners who had gathered to pay the last respect to the body of the Late Nelson Kule Kengeraho in Buthale village of Mahango sub-county.
According to her, some men had developed a tendence of dictatorship and declining to give accountability to their wives, something she said sparks misunderstandings at their respective homes.
In his homily while preaching to the mourners, the Curate at Kasese Cathedral Parish, Rev. Fr. Ednus Mumbere lashed at some men for resorting to polygamy after attaining wealth from the sale of coffee, asking them to instead stick to their original wives and build strong families.
