Kasese: Christians encouraged to be deep rooted in a firm foundation of Jesus Christ

BY ABDALA MASEREKA

Christians have been encouraged to get deep rooted in a firm foundation of Jesus Christ while they are still alive.

The encouragement was sounded today by the former Sub-dean at St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Ven. (Rtd) Charles Mbusa while preaching to the mourners who had thronged Ihani Cell in Ibanda – Kyanya Town Council for the send off of the body of the Late Stephano Kambere Guniha.

Quoting the Biblical Book of Mathew 7: 24 -27, Ven. Mbusa observed the need for the believers to base their faith on the hard rock instead of sand so that when they face storms in form of diseases and other challenges, they should remain firm both physically and spiritually.

The Kasese District Chairperson, Mr. EliphazMuhindi Bukombi described the deceased as a story teller, asking everyone to imitate his character as a way of leaving behind a sounding legacy when they depart from the world.

The Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Benson Kule Baritazale told the mourners that the Late Kambere lived an exemplary life as far as implementing the five pillars of the cultural institution is concerned. The pillars include peace and unity, reconciliation, mindset change and socio-economic transformation.

In his remarks, the Ibanda- Kyanya Town Council Chairperson, Mr. Modesto Bwambale Kanekerya, appealed to all the people to become ambassadors of promoting peace and unity for development.

The deceased died at the age of 93.
