Kasese based runners have launched a charity walk aimed at fundraising for them money so that they are enabled to participate in the August 23 Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon.
Today afternoon, the Kasese Municipality team sponsored by Kithulha Care Initiative launched the drive seeking over shillings 14,700,000 to enable purchase some sports attire and other logistics.
Addressing the press, a section of runners revealed that they were ready to participate in the marathon but decried several challenges including insufficient funds.
Ms. Annet Muhindo Muhanuka and Mr. Milton Mugisha Kalite who participate in the 21 and 42 kilometre runs respectively decried the lack of requires sports attires and logistics that have always hindered them from performing well in the previous editions.
Mr. ZimoniaBwambale also revealed that they were facing discouragement from the members of the public, asking the residents to accord them the necessary support through morale boosting them
Mr. Francis Mugisa Kithulha revealed thatthe 45 local runners have been fully prepared, appealing to all stakeholders to join hands and support them.
