After three years in internally displaced camp, the People leaving in the internally displaced camp in Muhokya town council Kasese District have decried the unpleasant conditions in which they live.
Ms. Aryema Rehema the chairperson of the internally displaced persons at the camp says they lack of the basics of life including food, a decent shelter and clothing.
Aryema revealed that the lack of basic needs was pushing young girls into commercial sex to enable them survive yet the vice places them at risk of contracting Sexually Transmitted Diseases including HIV. Ms.
Aryema adds that even the sanitation in the camp is wanting which is placing the health of the people therein at risk of outbreak of diseases like cholera.
They now want government to give them money in cash to enable each individual move out of the camp and buy pieces of land where they can settle. She is also appealing to government leaders to constantly visit them at the camp so that they share with them the challenges they are facing.
