In a significant move to uplift hands on skills, Big Heart Foundation led by the Kasese Municipality Member of Parliament is facilitating the acquisition of Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT) certificates for skilled youth and young mothers in his elective area.
The initiative by Hon. Ferigo Kambale aims to open doors for the beneficiaries and enabling them to explore new opportunities within Uganda and abroad.
Officiating at the official enrollment of members of Kasese Municipality Salon Operators into the Directorate of Industrial Training, Hon. Kambale noted that being certified by the Examinations body was not just recognition of their skills but an opportunity to keep ready for national and international jobs.
He also told the gathering that a dedicated team of officials from the Directorate of Industrial Training would soon visit Kasese district to assess the ability and level of skills owned by the Salon Operators before a graduation ceremony is held for beneficiaries to celebrate their achievements and officially be given their certificates.
Mr. Wilson Bwambale Ntama, the Chairperson for Kasese Municipality Salon Operators, emphasized the importance of certificates from the Directorate of Industrial Training, asking all his members to embrace the registration exercise that comes along with better future opportunities.
Some of the beneficiaries appreciated the opportunity, stressing that they would use their Directorate of Industrial Training Certificates not only to bolster their qualifications but also pursue various political positions.
