Health workers in Kasese district have been urged to shy away from the services of money lenders who allegedly exploit them while seeking loans.
The advice was sounded today by Mr. Uriah Mugisha, the Chairperson for Kasese District Health Workers SACCO while addressing the members during their Annual General Meeting that was held at Legacy Chill Out in Kasese town.
Mr. Mugisha instead appealed to the health workers to subscribe to their SACCO, buy shares and acquire loans from their own organization that is aimed at empowering them financially. According to him, the SACCO currently has 300 members from both Kasese Municipality and Kasese district.
Mr. Selvano Masereka, the Manager at Centenary Bank- Kasese Brach who donated a desktop computer to the SACCO, encouraged the members to embrace online banking for the proper management of their finances.
In his remarks, Mr. Zedekiya Kambasu Kayiri, the Deputy Town Clerk for Kasese Municipality who was among the Guest Speakers, asked the health workers who was among the Guest Speakers, asked the health workers to fund their own SACCO.
