At least four people are nursing injuries that they sustained after a bus belonging to Pokopoko Company hit a trailer in Kyenjojo district.
The bus registration number UAQ 226 W that set off from Bwera at 8:00am made a stopover in Kasese town at 9:00am before proceeding with the journey via the Fort-portal Mubende route met its fate today afternoon.
Mr. Willy Baluku, one of the Pokopoko Bus Managers in Kasese confirmed the incident to Messiah Radio on phone and said only four people sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby health facility that he didn’t name by press, adding that the rest of the passengers remained unhurt.
According to him, he was notified after the incident that the bus driver hit a trailer that had been parked along the way with some mechanical problems.
However, by press time, Baluku had not yet established the exact number of the passengers who were travelling in the bus.
On June 13, another bus belonging to Pokopoko Bus Company was involved in a road accident near Rwimi River Valley in Rwimi Town, Bunyangabu District.
The bus registration number UBP 415 C was descending into the river valley at around 1:30am and landed on suspected oils that had been spilled along the road making it slippery and hard for the bus to break.
