Foundation bodies of primary schools in Kasese district have been reminded of the supervisory roles in an attempt to revamp the lost glory of the institutions as far academic performance is concerned.
John Rugarama, the Kasese District Inspector of Schools in-charge of Special Needs, says government only comes in to grant-aid schools that are founded by churches and communities.
He was yesterday addressing various stakeholders including members of the school management committee, foundation bodies and PTA at Kinyateke Primary School in Kahokya Sub-county, Busongora County South.
Mr. Rugarama explained that in addition to supervision, the foundation bodies should also have time to plan for their schools and forge ways of improving structures and providing modest funds to run the school activities.
The Inspector of Schools was at the institution which has an enrolment of more than 600 pupils to preside over the official handover of the outgoing Head teacher, Mr. Zedekia Bwambale and welcoming the in-coming one, Mr. Joshua Bwambale Kasoke.
Bwambale who had served Kinyateke Primary School for nine years has been transferred to Kyambogho Primary School in Kilembe Sub-county while Kasoke was transferred from Kabwarara in Mahango Sub-county.
In his maiden speech, Kasoke pledged to serve the institution without reservations, asking the parents and other stakeholders to cooperate with him as he works towards improving the academic performance at the school. ENDS
