BY JONAN MUZIGITI

The former Kasese District Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Chairperson, Saulo Maate has observed the need for the opposition parties in Uganda to unite as an alternative means of realizing victory in the forthcoming General Elections.

Mr. Maate made the observation today afternoon while addressing the pres at the Rwenzori Square in Kasese town.

He was speaking in response to yesterday’s by-election for the Member of Parliament representing Kawempe North that was won by NUP’s Counsel Elias Luyimbazi Nalukoola after securing 17,764 votes.

Maate attributed Nalukoola’s victory to unity, teamwork and cooperation among all the opposition parties.

The outspoken Maate commended the people of Kawempe North for what he described as a historical win amidst the heavy security deployment.
