FDC Mourns Ruth Kikusa

Hundreds of mourners majorly active political leaders and activists from different political parties trekked and thronged at Nyakasojjo Upper cell, Nyakabingo III in Bulembia Division in Kasese Municipality for the final send off of the Late Ruth Asiimwe Kabugho Kikusa.

The deceased died on Friday at Kagando Hospital where she had been rushed after developing after-birth complications.

Born in 1992, Kikusa was the FDC treasurer in Bulembia Division. The National FDC Party Secretary, Nandala Mafabi Nathan, who was represented by National Secretary for Mobilization, Joseph Daka Ajuna described the Late Ruth Kikusa as a compassionate and extraordinary woman who loved her political party.

He, however, encouraged the FDC party members to emulate the dedication that the deceased had towards the party. 

In his speech, the Rwenzori region Governor of the FDC party, Saulo Maate, said that the deceased joined the opposition party in 2004 and he described her as a member committed to good governance.

Ronald Bwambale Kabuku, the FDC Kasese District Chairperson, told mourners that the deceased was one of the party pillars and ardent mobilisers of the opposition party.

On his part, the Kasese Municipality Mayor, Chance Kahindo emphasised the need for unity among political leaders despite their different political affiliations.

Ms Sylvia Agaba, the district woman councillor representing Bulembia and Central Divisions symphasized with the FDC party for the demise of one of its dedicated members who selflessly served the party.

The Kasese District Woman Member of Parliament, Florence Kabugho, said that Ruth’s demise leaves a gap so big to fill.

Preaching from the biblical book of 1 Corinthians 15: 21 to the mourners, Rev. Hon. Ezra Mukonzo Yongeza, the chairperson of the interfaith committee in the Rwenzori sub-region urged politicians to put God first in everything they do since there is a life after politics.
