A family from Nyabirongo Central in Kisinga Town Council, Kasese district is looking for shillings 25 million to pay the medical bills for a sick child who has been referred to India for specialized treatment.

The family belonging to Mr. Henry Mumbere aged 30 and his wife, Grace Mahoro aged 28, narrate that ever since they produced their one year and 11 months old baby girl, they have always been visiting several hospitals including Mulago National Referral Hospital where they were referred to India.

According to a medical report issued at Mulago National Referral Hospital (Heart Institute), the child has pulmonary atresia which is a birth defect of the heart where the valve that controls blood flow from the heart to the lungs doesn’t form at all.

The medical report signed Dr. Robert Prakas, a Pediatric Cardiologist, suggests that the sick children should be worked upon before the end of April this year.

But Mr. Mumbere, the father to the sick child says despite being referred to India, the family is financially unstable to raise the shillings 25 million that is needed to have their child receive the recommended medication.

Grace Mahoro, the mother says following the delay to receive medication, the child has started fainting, a reason why they appeal to the well-wishers to contribute money to the family in a bid to save the life of their child.
