Church Minister in South Rwenzori Diocese calls for nurturing of more disciples to preach the word of God

BY MATHIUS KAHUNGU

The South Rwenzori Diocesan Director of Mission and Evangelism has observed the need for the church to nurture more disciples for the proclamation of the Word of God.

In Christianity, disciples are dedicated followers of Jesus and the term “disciple” is used in the New Testament to refer to those who believed in Jesus and followed him.

Rev. William Muhindo Musisi says despite Africa having the largest number of Christians rated at 82%, the number of disciples is not allegedly multiplying, something that becomes disappointing.

The Church Minister sounded the remarks today while preaching to the congregation that had thronged Mt. Tabor in Kasese town for the end of March prayers.

He stressed that the shortfall in the Christian disciples was likely to lead to the collapse of the church if not dealt with accordingly.

He used the same platform to call upon the parents to ensure that they teach their children good religious morals and live by example for their young ones to emulate them.

On his part, the South Rwenzori Diocesan Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku called upon the Christians to make use of Mt. Tabor to strengthen their relationship with God and for its development.
