Christians emphasized to embrace prayer, fasting and almsgiving

The sub dean of St Paul’s Cathedral Ven. Charles Mbusa has emphasized the need for Christians to embrace prayer, fasting and almsgiving during this Lenten season.

In his homily during Palm Sunday service at the Cathedral, Ven Mbusa said it is important Christians extend a helping hand to vulnerable persons especially the sick, jailed, orphans and widows.

In a related development, at Rusese Church of Uganda, the Palm Sunday was celebrated through donating food stuffs including cassava flour, Rice and salt among others to the needy people in their neighborhood.

Mr. Jackson Mbusa the head of laity reports that over 50people benefited from the program.

Some of the beneficiaries including Mrs. Beatress Kisembo, Nerveless Biira and Justine Tusasirane hailed the church for the helping hand that they have extended to them.
