A section of angry parents at Bulembia Primary School in Bulembia Division of Kasese Municipality today morning stormed the school premises demanding for the immediate transfer of the Head teacher over allegations of abuse of office and incompetence.
The parents accuse Mr. Joseph Kule commonly known as Cotton for allegedly selling school property including tents that were donated to the institution by UNICEF when it was relocated to the current premises after the former were destroyed by floods from River Nyamwamba.
Other items that they suspect the Head teacher to have sold are the water tank, doors and an assortment of scholastic materials.
Some of the angry parents including Eliza Mbambu and Denis Kabau told our reporter who rushed to the school that they decided to storm the premises to express their dissatisfaction with the School Head teacher.
Eria Muhindo, another parent accused the Head teacher of allegedly deceiving the parents via their WhatsApp Group that Bulembia Primary School had five candidates in Division One in the recently released Primary Leaving Examinations but to their dismay, they later realized that none of the candidates passed in Division and the first scored 17 aggregates.
Mr. Richard Bomera, the Bulembia Division Chairperson who rushed to the school to calm down the parents, asked them to go back to their homes as his office forwards the matter to the relevant officers for the next course of action.
By press time, the accused Head teacher had secretly disappeared from the school premises and the parents had been held up in a crisis meeting with the teachers and Division leadership.
When contacted to comment about the matter, the School Head teacher declined to pick our repeated telephone calls. ENDS
