Buhambia Village, Ihandiro sub-county registers low turn -up of people seeking renewal of their National Identity Cards

Local leaders in Buhambia Village, Kibirigha parish in Ihandiro sub-county, Bukonzo County West in Kasese district are worried over the low turn-up of residents seeking registration for the National Identity Cards.

 Asanasio Maate, the area L.C I Chairperson presented the worry on Sunday while addressing the mourners at the burial of the body of the Late Jockus Masereka Biranga.

According to Mr. Maate, the rate at which the residents were turning up for the exercise was very low despite coming to its end.

Mr. Maate also alerted the public that they had started the program of rounding up community members who undermine government programs especially those without latrines, arguing that they might contribute to disease outbreaks.

Mr. Wilson Ndaleghana, the Sub-county Vice Chairperson  asked the people who had not yet registered for the National IDS to utilize the remaining time to avoid being left out.

Addressing the mourners, the Kasese District Woamn MP, Florence Kabugho, urged the community members to embrace government programs like National ID registration, Parish development Model so that they are helped to get out of poverty.
