Bishop of the Monastic Diocese of St. Benedict Charismatic Orthodox Church – Kasese castigate Kasese leaders

BY OBED KULE KITHENDE

The Bishop of the Monastic Diocese of St. Benedict Charismatic Orthodox Church – Kasese, John Musonge says he is not happy over the manner in which political leaders in Kasese district boycott their church functions whenever they are invited to attend.

On June 30, 2024, the Monastic Diocese of St. Benedict Charismatic Orthodox Church – Kasese ordained priests but according to Musonge, no political leader graced the event even despite being invited.

According to him, they are worried why the leaders have severally missed their functions and attend ceremonies organized by other denominations across the district.

He sounded the remarks today during a press conference that was held at their Diocesan headquarters located in Kamulikwizi Cell, Kanyangeya Ward in Nyamwamba Division of Kasese Municipality.

Musonge appealed to the political leaders to always treat all religions equally, arguing that they serve the same purpose of spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ.

The Man of God, who strongly condemned the act, noted that a section of people he couldn’t mention by name might be mobilizing political leaders to shun their functions for yet unknown reasons.

He observed need for the political, religious and church leaders to embrace unity and cooperation as the only tool to facilitate the smooth running of some church activities in the district.
