The South Rwenzori Diocesan Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku has warned Christians against drug abuse as they are celebrating Christmas festivals for this year.
Bishop Baluku says drugs like alcohol mentally affect people’s lives; a reason to why it should be avoided completely.
He made the call on Wednesday while preaching at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Kasese town adding that such drugs contribute to domestic violence in most families which is now on increase.
The Bishop lectured the Christians to use these festivals in restoring love and unity to the families, clans and tribes which he said was a tool to addressing differences in the communities.
He applauded Ugandan leaders for having strengthened the security in the country which has enabled people to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and asked Christians to keep praying for countries which are not at peace including Syria, Ukraine, and Russia among others.
