The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Kasese has challenged Christians to emulate the character of bravery that Saint Stephen exhibited when he spoke truth to power.
Rt. Rev. Francis Acquirinus Kibira while preaching to the congregation at Our Lady of Assumption Kasese Cathedral Parish in Kasese town today, noted that Stephen was not shy to denounce the Jewish authorities and instead recognized the power of Jesus Christ, an act that cost him his life as he was eventually stoned to death for speaking what he believed.
According to the Bishop, Christians ought to fearlessly proclaim the kindness of Jesus to the rest of the world despite whatever persecutions they encounter.
During the mass, the bishop also officiated over the baptism of more than 25 children into the Roman Catholic faith. The Prelate also told parents to form marriages that are built on the faith so that they groom God-fearing children.
