South Rwenzori Diocesan Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku has strongly warned the self- proclaimed priests across Kasese district against the practice of using regalia (items) belonging to the Anglican Church of Uganda and the Roman Catholic Church.
According to the Bishop, some of people have allegedly entered into priesthood without clear motives and in the process mislead the society.
The Prelate mentioned some of the regalia of the Anglican Church of Uganda and Roman Catholic Church that the self proclaimed priests have been using including prayer books, hymn books and clerical shirts among others.
He categorically put it clear that in Kasese district, there are only two authorized centres selling clerical items, one for the Anglicans and the other for the Roman Catholics.
He used the same platform to strongly caution the Anglican priests from collaborating with those self proclaimed priests to buy cleric items on their behalf, arguing that the suspects would be penalized because the act compromises the Canons of the Anglican Church of Uganda.
