The South Rwenzori Diocesan Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku has called upon Christians to use this Holy Week to repent of their sins and reflect on their lives as one way of strengthening their relationship with Jesus Christ as they prepare to celebrate his resurrection.
Easter is a principal festival of the Christian church that celebrates the Resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after his Crucifixion.
In his Easter message to the Diocesan Staff, Laity, Lay readers and the Clergy during their Easter Carol Service at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Kasese town, Bishop Baluku noted that it would be helpful if the Christians repented of their sins and reflected on their lives during this Holy Week.
This, according to him would enable them to register a positive impact on their spiritual lives.
The Prelate subsequently discouraged the Christians from acting like the Biblical Jews who pretended to be friends of Jesus Christ but later betrayed him, adding that people are obliged to do what the Lord expects from them.
Earlier in his preaching, Ven. Charles Mbusa, the Sub-dean at St. Paul’s Cathedral, appealed to the Christians to always stay focused on their visions despite the obstacles they might encounter in their Christian journey.
According to him, the Resurrection of Jesus Christ should be used as a tool to help them fight against some challenges caused by the devil.
