Aspiring candidates storm Kasese FDC offices to return their expression of interest forms

BY ZALIMON BASIGHALHA (GOOD LUCK)

Four Aspiring candidates vying for different political positions in Kasese district from the Forum for Democratic Change-FDC party, on Friday returned their expression of interest forms to the district party leadership at their branch offices in Kasese town, an indication that they have officially declared themselves to contest and participate in the party primary elections.

The four candidates included Benon Muhindo Zaake vying for Bukonzo County West parliamentary seat, Sedrack Mbaju Bakulirahi vying for Busongora County South Parliamentary seat and Saidi Kisuki for Kasese Mayoral seat while Manasi Muhindo Mbeki for the District Councillorship representing Kyondo Sub-county.

Accompanied by their sub-county and Constituency FDC party chairpersons, Zaake, Bakulirahi, Mbeki and Kisuki all handed over their filled forms to the Kasese District FDC party chairperson, Ronald Bwambale Kabuku.

Upon receiving their filled forms, Kabuku then allowed all of them to go to the ground and explain their visions to the people as well as consulting vetters, he, however, warned them against public campaigns.

Kabuku, who repeatedly said that the picking and returning of the expression of interest forms exercise will be closed on March 05 according to the instructions from the National Party Head offices at Najjankumbi in Kampala, clearly revealed that no one shall be allowed to contest or participate in the primary party election with an aim of getting a party flag if the given period elapses.

Speaking to the press in joyful moods immediately after handing in their filled forms, both Zaake and Bakulirahi pledges to the FDC party vetters and supporters to welcome their visions.

Ends.
