The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, His Grace, the Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu has encouraged couples to rely more on God than the traditional healers.
The Archbishop made the call over the weekend while presiding over a service in which Dr. Obed Kabanda and his wife Louise Kabugho were returning thanks to God for enabling them complete 20 years in marriage. It was held at All Saints Church Manyangwa in Gayaza, Wakiso district.
Dr. Kabanda was also thanking God for completing a PhD in Organizational Learning and leadership and his for completing a 3rd degree in Human Resource Management from Claremont University in California, USA.
Currently, Dr. Kabanda is the Senior Director of Global Partnerships and acting Lead Development Officer at Global Fund for Women, an organization in the USA that supports organizations of women in over 170 countries.
In his keynote address to the congregation, Archbishop Kaziimba urged couples to always seek God’s intervention than rushing to the witchdoctors for help.
In his remarks, the retired Bishop of South Rwenzori Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Zebedee Kahangwa Masereka, who graced the function, told the congregation that he had 56 years in marriage and quickly attributed his success to God’s guidance on whose foundation his marriage is built.
