A section of women from Bukonzo County East in Kasese district has vowed to support leaders who prioritize service delivery and tangible development projects in the forthcoming 2026 General Elections.
Speaking at a mindset challenge meeting organized by the Bukonzo County East NRM Sensitization Team held at Cardinal Nsubuga Secondary School in Munkunyu Sub-county, the women said they would rally behind leaders who might address their pressing issues such as healthcare, education and infrastructure among others.
They also cited issues related to lack of access to safe and clean drinking water, poor road network and limited healthcare facilities as some of the challenges that they face in their daily lives.
Yunusu Muhindo, the Kasese District NRM Publicity Secretary who seconded the idea by the women to vote for the visionary leaders, commended them for boldly sticking to their point but asked them to consider all the party flagbearers.
Angella Birungi, the Kasese District Chairperson for the Women’s Council, who represented Sarah Ithungu Masereka Baleke, applauded the women for having made a significant political step in the constituency.
Mrs. Sarah KabegyesaMulembe who is currently among the campaigning officials of Dr. Julius Monday Bwambale Rude, urged all illegible voters to participate in the forthcoming elections and elect leaders who would prioritize their needs and the development of the community.
