Head teachers of Schools in Kasese Municipality have been urged to fight against the increasing rate of absenteeism among the learners and teachers in their respective institutions of learning as one of promoting good performance in examinations.

The advice was sounded by Mr. Sam Monday Sibaminya, the Secretary for the Head teachers’ Association while reading during the official release of the P.7 Mock results at Kasese Primary School.

Mr. Sibaminya stressed that most institutions in all the three divisions of Kasese Municipality registered some failures in all the subjects due to absenteeism of the learners, hence a need for the school heads to take an immediate action into the matter.

According to him, only 455 candidates out of 2,773 that sat for the Mock Examinations managed to come out in Division I.

Mr. Seith Ahebwa, the Kasese Municipal Principal Education Officer implored the Head teachers to commit themselves towards ensuring an excellent performance among the learners.

However, Ms Tobia Kyomuhendo, the Municipal Inspector of Schools hailed the teachers for their tireless efforts towards making the learners to excel in the just released Mock results.

The results that were released today indicated that English and Mathematics were among the best performed subjects while Trusted Care, Excel Preparatory and Nadir Preparatory Schools were among the institutions that had all their candidates pass in Division I.
