The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Commissioner in-charge of Rwenzori Sub-region, Mr. Saulo Maate, has lashed at the Kasese Resident District Commissioner, Lt. Joe Walusimbi for his recent statements indicating that his office was not involved in the issues related to blocking the Omusinga from inspecting the development projects in Kasese Municipality.

On June 17, Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere Iremangoma on invitation of the Kasese Municipal leadership was supposed to tour the urban centre to inspect some development projects being implemented by government in the urban centre.

While addressing a section of residents from Nyakabingo sub-county on Wednesday during the official launch of the construction works of a 5 kilometer Bukumbia-Kyambogho road at Kasindi Trading Center, Lt. Joe Walusimbi told the gathering that his office was not involved in the act of sabotaging the King’s visit contrary to the public information that is allegedly in circulation.

Lt. Walusimbi explained that as an individual, he is loyal to the King, adding that at any one time, he cannot get involved in acts of disrespect to the Omusinga who is one of the most respected people in the country.

However, while addressing the press today at the Kasese District FDC offices in Kasese town, the outspoken Maate said the RDC’s statements tantamount to an open lie to the Rwenzururu subjects.
