At least shillings 2.4 million was yesterday raised in cash at a fundraising drive aimed at soliciting funds to procure musical instruments at All Saints Kajwenge Church of Uganda, Kajwenge Parish in Kisinga Archdeaconry, South Rwenzori Diocese.
Mr. Benon Bwambale, a Youth leader at the church told our reporter that the music system is estimated to cost shillings 9.6 million.
To raise the above amount of money, the church leadership decided to invite a section of local churches in Kajwenge Anglican parish to stage a concert as part of the activities during the fundraising drive.
He was optimistic that once the music system is procured for the church, it will help to attract the youth attend church services.
The function was presided over by the Bukonzo County East Parliamentary hopeful, Dr. Julius Monday Bwambale Rude, who was represented by his sister, Annet Biira Rude and subsequently contributed shillings 600,000.
In his remarks, Mr. Pascal Kahangiro, the Lay reader at All Saints Kajwenge Church of Uganda, commended Dr. Rude for his continuous support to the church activities.
