The Kasese District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Florence Kabugho has given 16 sewing machines to the Young mothers who recently completed a tailoring training with sponsorship from “Save a Mother Initiative,” a brain child of the legislator.

The beneficiaries who received the donation yesterday were among the 40 Young mothers who had completed a six –month tailoring course at the Save a Mother Skills’ Centre located at St. Peter’s Kabatunda Church of Uganda Parish Headquarters in Kabatunda – Kirabaho Town Council, Busongora County North in Kasese district.

While handing over the machines to the beneficiaries, Hon. Kabugho explained that she shared the cost of procuring the tools with the parents of the beneficiaries. She quickly appealed to the beneficiaries to utilize the machines for the purpose for which they were meant so that they are enabled to look after their children as young mothers.

She also announced that the next graduation ceremony for all the learners benefiting from the Save a Mother Initiative across the district would be there in August this year.

Mr. Edson Kasundi Bigangya, the Project Coordinator in Busongora County North also courted the beneficiaries to utilize properly and earn a living.  He, however, called for the inclusion of the People living with Disabilities.

Some of the beneficiaries who hailed the legislator for the machines, pledged to use them to finically transform their lives.
