The Kasese District Education Officer, Mr. Ernest Bwambale Thabugha has encouraged the teachers to embrace ICT skills as one way of managing the e-registration program.
Mr. Thabugha sounded the encouragement today during a one -day training for the School Head teachers on e-registration at Kasese primary school. The training was aimed at equipping the Head teachers with computer skills as a prerequisite for saving time during managing the registration exercise.
He subsequently appealed to the school heads to have access to electronic gadgets like smart phones and computers among others so that they gain more experience in handling them.
Ms Tobia Kyomuhendo, the Kasese Municipal Inspector of Schools explained that e-registration focuses on empowering teachers with new ICT skills to enable them provide the required data of their learners on time.
Mr. Erisa Muhindo, the Chairperson for Kasese Municipal Primary School Head teachers’ Association noted that they would effectively carry out the e-registration if government provided them with the necessary gadgets like computers and smart phones.
