Political bickering between NUP and FDC emerge in Kasese

BY JOACKIM KULE

Political bickering between the National Unity Platform (NUP) and the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has emerged in Kasese district with each party accusing the other of disrespect.

Mr. Saulo Maate, the FDC Commissioner for the Rwenzori Sub-region accuses Mr. Joneni Bwambale Bamwenda, a NUP Mobilizer for allegedly disrespecting FDC as a giant opposition political party both in Kasese and the country at large.

Maate argues that the Busongora County North Parliamentary hopeful proudly talks negatively about FDC when he is doing his work of mobilizing for NUP.

He suggests to Mr. Bamwenda to focus on his political party’s ideologies and leave other political parties to do their work independently.

Responding to Maate’s concerns, Mr. Bamwenda denies having any intention of fighting FDC.

He, however, says that his concern is about a section of FDC members who allegedly collaborate with NRM members and then pretend to be on the opposition side.

He urges the opposition parties to unite for the purpose of unseating the ruling NRM party he accuses of allegedly failing to fight against corruption and human rights’ violations.
