Rwenzururu King makes changes in his cabinet

The Rwenzururu King, Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere Iremangoma has made some changes in his cabinet and maintained Rt. Hon. Joseph Kule Muranga as the Prime Minister.

In the new cabinet that was announced today at the District multipurpose hall in Kasese town, Muranga will be deputized by Rt. Hon. Benson Kule Baritazale, who has replaced, Mr. Edwin Bayiringa Kugonza.

Mr. Alfred Makasi has also been maintained as the Cultural Institution’s Attorney General and deputized by Mr. Herbert Bagheni.

Other appointments include Hon. Patrick Baluku Muhesi as the Minister for Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Hon. Geoffrey Kanyonyi as the Minister for Information, Mobilization and Kingdom’s Spokesperson who will be deputized by Hon. Barbara Kabanyoro Ndahura Amooti and Hon. Yonah Maate Tumusiime as the Minister of Protocol and Palace Affairs.

Hon. Aganatia Katya is now the Minister for Cultural Heritage, Native Administration and Veteran Affairs while Hon. Joshua Baluku is the Minister for Education and Hon. Juliet Best Bakoko is the Minister for Gender, Rehabilitation and Disability.

Hon. Naome Mbambu is now the Minister for Lands and Agriculture, while Hon. Julius Muhindo is the Minister for Tourism whereas Dr. Yusuf Baseke is now the Minister of Health and Nutrition.

Hon. Lucy Biira Kabanyoro is the Minister for Intercultural Cooperation and External Relations while Rev. Ezra Mukonzo Yongeza is the Minister of Religious Affairs among others.

In his speech, the Omusinga hailed President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for restoring peace and stability in the Rwenzori sub region.

He therefore tasked the new cabinet to cooperate with the Central Government in an attempt to maintain the already established peace for socio-economic transformation.

Led by the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Joseph Kule Muranga, the newly    appointed Ministers pledged to pay allegiance to the Omusinga, Royal family and the Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu Constitution.
