The State Minister for ICT and National Guidance, Hon. Godfrey Baluku Kabbyanga has donated Mathematical Sets to all the Primary seven candidates at the 26 government grant aided primary schools located in the hard to reach areas in Bukonzo County West ahead of the Primary Leaving Examinations.
The Primary Leaving Examinations will begin tomorrow with briefing of candidates and a total of 749,371 candidates across the country are expected to sit for national examinations.
On Wednesday, the candidates will do Mathematics in the morning and Social Studies in the evening while on Thursday, the candidates will start with Integrated Science in the morning and end with English in the evening.
Yesterday, Hon. Kabbyanga delegated his Political Assistant, Enock Friday Bwambale, who pitched camp at Kiime Resort in Mpondwe – Lhubiriha Town Council and delivered the Mathematical Sets to some Head teachers of the beneficiary schools located in the hard to reach areas.
The beneficiary schools included all government grant aided from the sub-counties of Kitholhu and Ihandiro and Kithoma –Kanyatsi Town council. Others were some selected schools from Bwera sub-county including Nyamughona while others including Nyamighera, Nyakasojo, Muhindi and Kayanja were from Nyakiyumbu sub-county.
Bwambale revealed that the donation from the Minister was a sign of wishing them success as they do their final examinations.
He used the same platform to encourage the teachers to apply their professional skills in finding out why the number of girls that are currently dropping out of school is higher than that of the boys.
In his remarks, the L. C III Chairperson for Kithoma – Kanyatsi Town Council, Mr. Milton Kule Mbwarara, hailed the Minister for fulfilling a pledge that he made to the Chairpersons of the eight lower local governments in Bukonzo West who had earlier reported to him that the candidates were failing Mathematics due to lack of scholastic materials.
Mr. Emmanuel Kule Maliba, the Kitholhu Sub-county Chairperson, couldn’t hide his excitement and gratitude to the Minister for the donation that he said will go a long way to help the candidates excel in Mathematics.
