The Bishop of South Rwenzori Diocese Rt. Rev Nason Baluku has warned Christians in the Anglican Church of Uganda against joining the emerging fellowship and prayer centers that are not designated by the diocese.
Of recent, it has become common practice for believers to congregate in private places and fellowship together.
But Bishop Nason Baluku cautions Anglican believers against frequenting such places that are not managed by commissioned lay readers, evangelists and clergymen and women.
Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku says some unscrupulous persons could manipulate innocent Christians and set-up new churches that are not under the leadership of the diocese and the Anglican Church in general.
The man of God hints that some of those places even possess the word Anglican in their name yet they are not members to the confessing Anglicans of global future conference GAFCON which is part of the authentic Anglican Communion.
Now, while reading the message of the Bishop to the church congregation today, the Sub-Dean St. Paul’s Cathedral Ven. Charles Mbusa e warned the Christians against joining new and emerging religions adding that they may affect their faith.
The Prelate also appealed to Anglican believers who could have been misled by any new church formations disguising to be members of the Anglican Communion to return to the mainstream Anglican Church of Uganda within one month or else they would be declared to belong to those new formations. He appealed to Anglican believers to remain firm in their faith and also register all their apostolate movements and clubs.
