The territorial police in Hima Division, Rwenzori East Region in Kasese district together with the locals have successfully recovered the body of Paul Bwambale who last evening drowned in a Community Valley Dam in Hima Parish Kitswamba Sub-county.
SP Nelson Tumushime, the Regional Police Spokesperson confirmed the development to the press and said the body was retrieved at 1:30pm and conveyed to Kasese Municipal Health Centre III mortuary for a postmortem examination.
According to Tumushime, Bwambale who is a herdsman and resident of Ruhita village met his fate as he was grazing goats at approximately 7:30pm.
While grazing, one of the goats allegedly escaped and went to a Community Valley Dam to drink water and unfortunately drowned. As Bwambale tried to rescue the goat, he also drowned hence leading to death.
SP Suzan Nerima Bwire, the Hima Divisional Police Commander and her team responded swiftly to the scene but because of too much darkness, efforts to retrieve the body from the Valley Dam were futile until today afternoon when police and the locals successfully retrieved it.
