Security Officers in Kasese District have suspended the operations of Unique Valley Primary School, a private school in Kasese Municipality.
Kasese Deputy Resident District Commissioner in-charge of Busongora County, Mr. Zepher Mubingwa says that the school is currently not safe to accommodate the learners amidst the wrangles existing between the school operators and Nyakatonzi Cooperative Union.
Mubingwa, who was addressing the press this evening at his office in Kasese Town, stresses that no one will be allowed to enter into the school premises until February 11when they are expected to get some guidance from the High Court of Uganda at Kasese.
He said that sometime back; after learning about the wrangles, they mediated both parties in the hope that the matter gets settled amicably yet they eventually rushed the matter to the courts of law.
Mubingwa also revealed that his office sent a team of police to the ministry of Lands and Urban Development to ascertain true ownership of the land.
He claims that the land belongs to Nyakatonzi Cooperative Union according to a report from the ministry of lands.
Mr. Julius Kambere, the Vice Chairperson Board told the media that they were demanding the school administrators shillings ninety million.
Some of the parents that had reached to the school on the very first day of beginning term one, called for quick harmonization of the matter so that their children study.
