A section of NRM party leaders in Kasese district is seeking an extension of the deadline for the NRM register update exercise.
On January 26, 2025, the party through her Secretary General, Richard Todwong launched the exercise at the party national Head quarters at Kyadondo in Kampala. The exercise was meant to come to an end today across the entire country.
Speaking to the press, Todwong revealed that the second and final phase would address issues encountered during the initial digital process such as errors in members’ names, underage registrations, and improper name recordings.
But to Mr. Laurent Kule, the NRM chairperson for Nyabugando I Cell in Nyabugando ward, Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council, the four days are not enough to have every NRM party member catered for.
Moses Muhindo Kana, the chairperson NRM for Nyabugando ward concurred with his counterpart on the need to extend the period of the exercise.
Mr Enos Nyabutundu another NRM supporter encouraged all NRM party members and supporters to embrace the exercise revealing that only those whose names appear in the yellow book will be eligible voters in the NRM internal poll.
