Residents in Kasese Municipality have been reminded of the need to use the solar powered lights installed along the newly constructed roads in the urban centre to establish some small scale businesses as a way of promoting the night economy.
The reminder was sounded today by the Deputy Municipality Mayor, Mr. Rabson Mupango while speaking to our reporter in an exclusive interview at his office in Kasese town.
Mr. Mupango noted that the residents in the urban centre allegedly lack the knowledge of tapping money from the newly installed solar powered lights through establishing business enterprises that they can operate during the night hours in a bid to earn a living.
He, however, attributed the challenge to the continuous shifting of people from the Town centre to pre-urban areas within the Municipality.
Asked whether the presence of the members of the notorious Gaza Group in the Town Centre might not hinder people from operating their businesses during the night hours, Mupango stressed that they were working tooth and nail to have such criminals chased away from the area.
