Town Agents, PDM SAACO Chairpersons in Kasese Municipality receive iPads

The Kasese Municipality Mayor has implored the implementers of the Parish Development Model to sensitize the beneficiaries about the effective utilization of the program funds.

Mr. Chance Kahindo sounded the remarks today morning at Booma Grounds while addressing the Divisional Town Clerks, Ward Agents and SACCO Chairpersons during a function in which the municipal authorities were launching the distribution exercise of 36 iPads to help them effectively implement the program.

Kahindo, who described the Parish Development Model programme as a crucial government initiative that is meant to improve the people’s livelihoods, cited the need for the implementers to help the beneficiaries appreciate the efforts of government so that they earn a living from her pro-people programs.

The Kasese Assistant RDC in -charge of Kasese Municipality, Ms Justine Muhindo Mutabazi told the agricultural extension workers to guide the farmers on how they can maintain their farms and use the funds to add value to their produce.

The Kasese Municipal Deputy Town Clerk, Zedekiya Kambasu Kayiri, revealed that under the Parish Development Model Programme, more than 3.7 billion shillings have so far been disbursed to the people from the 18 wards that make up the urban centre.

He told the Town Agents that the gadgets that would be officially handed to them on Wednesday next week are meant to monitor all the transactions, advising them to be careful since they would be directly supervised from the centre.
