Kasese District continues registering success in combating the spread of Mpox disease in some communities.
Mpox was declared in Uganda in July with Kasese having the very first two confirmed cases detected in Bukonzo County West.
The District Surveillance Focal Person, Mr. Arafat Bwambale today morning told the press that they employed all their profession tactics in curtailing the disease from spreading further.
According to him as of today only eight cases have so far been registered with no deaths reported.
He called on the embers of the public to be calm, adding that all possible measures have been put in place to prevent the importation of the disease from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
He, however, appealed to the residents to be reporting any suspicious cases in their respective communities.
Bwambale used the same platform to reveal that all the people who were admitted after being diagnosed with anthrax infection have recovered and allowed to continue with their normal duties in their respective families.
He subsequently cautioned the public against the consumption of unhealthy meat as they celebrate Christmas.
