President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has implored Ugandans to complement the efforts of government in fostering peace and stability so that they can be able to realize sustainable development.
President Museveni made the remarks yesterday while officiating at the thanksgiving ceremony of the two junior ministers from Kasese District at Kaguta Grounds in Nyakatonzi Sub County. The ministers are Gen. Wilson Mbasu Mbadi and Godfrey Baluku Kabbyanga.
Museveni said that in the past before the NRM took over power in 1986; Uganda was insecure, making the citizens unable to effectively utilize the rich resources like salt, sugar among others.
Museveni was happy that the NRM government through the establishment of the professional army and the Police has stabilized the country, making Uganda enjoyable by the people.
He advised the people especially those in Kasese to avoid divisionism basing on ethnicity, and religion which he said fuel instability.
Earlier in his preaching to the congregation, South Rwenzori Diocesan Bishop, the Rt. Nason Baluku appealed to the people to desist from living a segregate life since they are all Ugandans as well as children of God.
The Man of God was appreciative to the composer of the Uganda Anthem, noting that he was showing the power of God in the country.
