The police at Kasese Central Police Station today morning registered a sudden death of Kinini Kakitsa Kambasu, a male driver aged 52.
The deceased is a Congolese by Nationality and a resident of Bukuna – Butembo in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The tragic incident happened along Kasese – Mbarara Highway at approximately 05:40am as the driver was driving a motor vehicle registration number CGO 6618AE19 (Front number plate) and CGO2680AE19
According to the turn man, the said trailer was loaded with 28 tonnes of cocoa from the Democratic Republic of Congo and it was heading to Kenya.
SP Nelson Tumushime, the deceased was not feeling well and was on medication. According to him, when the driver’s condition deteriorated, he decided to park the loaded trailer along the Road while police at Kasese Central Police Station as notified and responded swiftly.
However, when they reached the scene, the found the driver already dead.
The body was conveyed to Kasese Municipal Health Centre III for a postmortem report.
SP Tumushime has since appealed to the drivers to desist from driving while on medication as well as being extra careful as the use the roads.
