At least 34 countries will participate in tomorrow’s Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon, the Minister of State in-charge of National Guidance, Hon. Godfrey Baluku Kabbyanga Kime has confirmed.
The marathon will feature different runs of 42 kilometres, 21 kilometres, 10 kilometres and 5 kilometres.
Addressing the press today morning at Sandton Hotel in Kasese town, Minister Kabbyanga, who hailed the residents for supporting this 4th edition, said he was impressed by the rate at which the different stakeholders were working together towards the success marathon.
According to him, their target was to see the Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon develop and reach a scale of Landon Marathon by 2030.
Kabbyanga, who assured the nation that security was tighter, also implored the business community to invest in the tourism sector for its related benefits.
He used the same platform to confirm that the Deputy Speaker of the Kenyan Parliament would also attend the marathon with an additional 50 runners.
