A 24-year-old patient who was on admission at Rukoki Health Centre IV in Nyamwamba Division of Kasese Municipality has committed suicide by hanging herself in the facility’s premises.
The deceased has been identified by the Health Facility Management as Precious Atim who is believed to be a resident of Soroti District. The deceased hanged herself in a tree within the land belonging to the Health Centre.
Dr. Abraham Masereka, the Health Facility in-charge confided to the press that the deceased was brought to the centre last evening by a young boy who was a caretaker while suffering from citric, psychological impairments and epilepsy.
According to Dr. Masereka, after the deceased had gained some stability today morning, she allegedly escaped from the Health Centre bed and was later discovered dead having hanged herself in a tree using one of the clothes she had come with at the facility.
He advised the people to always come along with their relatives as they visit health facilities seeking treatment so that they are able to provide clear information about them.
By press time, the body of the deceased had been transported to Kasese Municipal Health Centre III Mortuary by the authorities at Rukoki Health Centre IV waiting for the relatives to come and pick it for burial.
