A total of 14 people have been elevated to holy orders in the South Rwenzori Diocese of the Province of the Church of Uganda.
These include the ten who were elevated from deaconate to priesthood and the four who were ordained deacons.
The deacons include Simon Bwambale, Zadoki Mbusa, James Bamuhaira and Joseph Jamada Bwambale while those who were elevated from deaconate to priesthood are Eng Gabriel Fataki, the Chairperson Board of Directors Messiah Radio, Eric Bwambale, Neckson Ndungu Pimawa, Charles Kabagambe, and Joram Kule.
The others are Geneva Kabugho, Guslain Kambale, Annah Kikundi and Julius Bwambale.
The Retired Bishop of South Rwenzori, the Rt Rev Zebedee Kahangwa Masereka urged the newly ordained priests to go and do God’s work with confidence.
He also tipped them of potential challenges that they are likely to face during service and urged them to remain resilient and pray to God to help them overcome. Bishop Masereka emphasised the need for loyalty to the bishop in the church ministry.
Meanwhile, Bishop Nason Baluku also elevated four reverends and installed them as canons in the Anglican Church. They include Misach Bulemu, Nelson Walinah, Abia Were and Wilson Kighoma Nzaghale.
The ordination and installation ceremony was, among others, attended by Rev Fr Aniasio Mbusa the Director Caritas Kasese, Fr Richard Sausi and Rev Fr Godfrey Sunday the parish priest Kidodo and Nsenyi Parish. ENDS
