Kasese Municipal Town Clerk to investigate if government funds are being managed properly

BY JOACKIM KULE

The Kasese Municipal Town Clerk has revealed that his office would soon launch a campaign aimed at ascertaining whether the public projects that have been established by government in all the three divisions are being managed properly.

Mr. Geoffrey Bamanyisa sounded the remarks yesterday while speaking during the 2024/2025 Budget Conference for the Central Division that was held at the Division’s Council Hall in Kasese town.

Mr. Bamanyisa explained that his decision to ascertain if the government projects established in the three lower local governments are benefiting the intended beneficiaries emanated from the reports reaching his office indicating that the roof sheds that have been constructed in some wards are not being utilized by the targeted community.

He was optimistic that his audit campaign would enable the Municipal authorities to improve on the quality of services offered to the people by government.

He used the same podium to encourage the decision makers to always involve the communities that they represent in council in the identification of their real needs that need redress by government.

According to him, the government projects are supposed to benefit the whole community.

The Head of the Technical Staff in the Municipality implored the leaderships of all the three Divisions to interest themselves in opening up community access roads in all wards.
