South Rwenzori Diocese has delivered another consignment of relief items to the displaced persons encamped at Muhokya in Muhokya Town Council.
The items including 400 kilograms of cassava flour and four sacks of assorted clothes were delivered last evening by the Diocesan Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku in the company of other Diocesan Clergy and Laity.
Last year, the Diocese under the leadership of now retired Bishop Jackson Thembo Nzerebende also continuously supported the displaced persons across the district. The victims met their fate after some major rivers streaming from the Rwenzori Mountains burst their banks causing devastating floods that led to destruction of property.
While at the camp last evening, Bishop Baluku, who shared the word of God with the victims, said despite being in a trying moment, their hearts and hope should remain deep-rooted in Christ.
Rehema Aryema, the General Secretary for the Camp, hailed South Rwenzori Diocese for her continued support to the flood victims.
