The Rwenzururu King Charles Wesley Mumbere Irema-ngoma has endorsed the subjects’ fundraising drive for the construction of the kingdom’s palace, royal residence and administration block.
The Kingdom’s Prime Minister, Benson Kule Baritazale confirmed the development last evening while addressing journalists at Virina Gardens.
Rt. Hon. Baritazale indicated that the Omusinga had expressed his gratitude to a section of subjects who have championed the drive to raise funds for the construction of the palace.
According to him, the construction was among the highlighted priorities of the kingdom’s five-year strategic development plan.
However, Baritazale noted that the Omusinga guided that the first priority be given to the palace with effect and dedicated this year’s coronation anniversary and the birthday run for raising the funds meant for the highlighted activity.
Omusinga has also instituted two categorized committees including those charged with chairing the construction and that for fundraising.
Baritazale urged the people to only deposit money on the official account of the kingdom in the name of Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu Kingdom Palace Construction Fund.
Hon. Geoffrey Kanyonyi warned the subjects against creating multiple WhatsApp mobilization platforms which may be used by unscrupulous persons to fleece people of their hard-earned money.
In Ntoroko District Logistics Officer, Mr. Ivan Kambere has backed the campaign and pledged to raise ten bags of cement for the same.
