Rwenzururu Kingdom has sounded an alarm to the public indicating that some people have started encroaching on her land located on the Royal Hill in Kasese town.
According to Nzoboli Muhindo, a caretaker of the Royal Hill on which the new Administrative Offices for the Kingdom are situated, some individuals have gone as far as constructing permanent houses on the said land.
Mary Masika, one of the authorized 80 farmers who are currently practicing agriculture on the Royal Hill, argues that in addition to encroaching on the land, animals belonging to some neighbours also stray into the land in question destroying crops and planted trees.
The Rwenzururu Kingdom Minister in-charge of Lands, Agriculture and Environment, Sylvester Masereka commonly known as Caritas says it is unfortunate that individuals have dared to encroach on the Kingdom land that has already been titled.
